Education and Certifications Update

While experience is certainly the best teacher, I've found that formal education (and associated exams to verify retention of that formal education) is also an indispensable tool for growth. This is because official training programs and experience compliment each other by filling in gaps left by the other. Together, they give a fuller picture of the technology being supported. That is why I made the investment back in the 2000's in my Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and why I've continued throughout the years to get certified in the technologies I find are important to our clients and that we need to support.
Recently, I've been working on formalizing my Apple skills and have now achieved both MacOS Certifications for 10.13 High Sierra: Apple Certified Support Professional and Apple Certified Associate - Mac Integration. You can view my status on Apple's certification website here.
Incidentally, when you run a new search and look for all certifications in the state of Oregon you will find that I am one of only 14 certified individuals returned on that search.
Formal education isn't everything, and it certainly isn't sufficient without the associated experience (over a decade now in I.T.). But together they show a history that shows solidity.
